This bachelor thesis paper analyzes the sustainable development as the overall concept of future world existence. The nowadays society meets with many challenges, which are forced by globalization processes, economic, social, political, political and technological changes. All these changes are accompanied by work force, climate and natural resources change processes. All these elements all together forced scientist and politicians to invent and create the new world strategy for better world for future generations – sustainable development. The aim of the course paper is to reveal the main components of the sustainable development and to compare the sustainable development indexes in Lithuania. The methods used in this bachelor is the analysis of scientific literature, comparative, written and interpretation methods. The goals of the paper is to reveal the components of sustainable development, interpret the keywords and terms of sustainable development and to show the variety, to represent the measurement indexes of sustainable development, to represent the situation of sustainable development in Lithuania and compare two different Lithuanian regions. The practical part consist of quantitative research, which included 9 organizations and experts reports.
