Recently, the functionality of the information system “GeoMatininkas” (hereinafter referred to as IS Geomatininkas) has been the subject of heated discussions, as starting from 1 July 2017 any land cadastre data will no longer be prepared in printed form and will instead be made available to the manager of the cadastre in digital form through the aforementioned system. This paper shall seek to evaluate the functionality of IS Geomatininkas in forming electronic case files as well as in drawing plans and other documentation. The thesis paper included an overview of the legislation governing the execution of cadastral measurements. The review of the legal regulations was followed by statutory cadastral measurements of the aforementioned plots; in particular, the author(s) performed the marking and identified the topographical spatial objects using the GPNS system. The data obtained were used to compile the cadastral files and plans for the plots in question within the information system \"GeoMatininkas\". The functionality of IS Geomatininkas was assessed while compiling the plans and the selected functions were then compared to those of the 2018 GeoMap software. After the functional evaluation, a solution was proposed in order to optimize the process of plan preparation. To be more precise, it was proposed to draw line and polygon objects using \"GeoMap 2018\" or other CAD software, to store the data and to import them into IS Geomatininkas, which would help optimize the process of drawing spatial objects. Once the plans and other documents had been prepared, they were converted into an electronic format and the electronic case file was submitted to the National Land Service for revision.
