Modeling of the bayliss-effect in vascular smooth muscles
This contribution presents a model for the smooth muscle contraction embracing a stretch-dependent calcium function. It enables the coupling of the mechanical material answer with the chemical reactions on cellular level. Based thereon, simulation results of arteries under time-dependent intravascular pressure, mimicking the scenario during heart-beat, are analyzed.
