A Case Study of the Role of Ethnic Labor in Global Cities of Western Europe: In the Reunification Process (1990-1995), the Turkish Labor in Berlin ; ETNİK İŞGÜCÜNÜN BATI AVRUPA’NIN KÜRESEL KENTLERİNDEKİ ROLÜ: YENİDEN BİRLEŞİM SÜRECİNDE (1990-1995) BERLİN’DEKİ TÜRK İŞGÜCÜ
Within a conceptual framework characterized by production, space and migration, thisarticle studies the sectoral role of ethnic labor in the global cities. The study analyzes the urban-sectoralparticipation of Turkish labor and generalizes this for the global cities of Western Europe. After the reunificationof East and West Germany, the sectoral transformation in Berlin, its emerging global cityfunctions and the economic role of ethnic labor constitute the main analysis areas here. In the beginningof the 1990s, the participation of Turkish labor in the labor market of Berlin is discussed in two areas:occupational characteristic and business status. ; Bu makale, üretim, mekan ve göç ilişkilerinin tanõmladõğõ kuramsal bir çerçeve içerisinde etnikişgücünün küresel kentlerdeki sektörel rolünü incelemektedir. Çalõşma, Türk işgücünün, Berlin’dekikentsel-sektörel katõlõmõnõ çözümlemekte ve Batõ Avrupa küresel kentleri için genelleştirmektedir. Doğuve Batõ Almanya’nõn yeniden birleşiminin sonrasõndaki Berlin’deki sektörel dönüşüm, yeni şekillenenküresel kent işlevleri ve etnik işgücünün belirginleşen iktisadi rolü, burada ana çözümleme alanlarõnõoluşturmaktadõr. 1990’larõn başlarõnda, Berlin’in işgücü piyasasõ içerisinde Türk işgücü katõlõmõ, ikialanda ele alõnmõştõr: mesleki nitelik ve iş statüsü.
