Economic Diversity by Sustaining Historical Buildings: King Abdul Aziz Palace, as a Case Study
Within the long history, Saudi Arabia has a diverse range of heritage buildings and sites which still exist until today. Palace of the Emirate in Qebah town is one of the most significant historical buildings which were built by order of King Abdul Aziz in 1351 AH in Al-Qassim Region. Saudi Vision 2030 is a plan to reduce Saudi Arabia's dependence on oil, diversify its economy, and develop public service sectors such as infrastructure, recreation, and tourism. This paper aims to discuss the sustainability of historical buildings in Al Qassim Region with the help of the implementation of conservation policies to enhance the diversity of the economy in the country. Keywords: Sustainable; Historic Buildings; Heritage Conservation; Economic DiversityISSN: 2398-4287 © 2019.
