The aim of the master’s thesis is a unique concept of active internal territorial resources development which could address the issues of urban sprawl. The thesis analyzes the specific relationship of Klaipeda city external development with the composition of internal transverse connections in the city, thus in order to identify which and what kind of internal territorial resources could be used to help prevent from further urban expansion. An alternative concept of the use of territorial resources is proposed and is applied in Liepų str. axis connecting the central part of the city with the periphery, revealing the potential of the integrated territory for the use of internal territorial reserves. At the level of detail, the principles of urban node structure are proposed, which aim to integrate the territory into the overall urban system of the city and to form alternative housing conditions for its potential residents. The possible outcomes of the suggestions are evaluated and conclusions are stated in this thesis. Structure: introduction,analytical-methodical, experimental-research, experimental- design parts, conclusions and suggestions, references. Thesis consist of: 128 p. text without appendixes, 115 pictures, 58 bibliographical entries. Appendixes included.
