PERENCANAAN PERBAIKAN PERMUKAAN JALAN PRANCIS DADAP DENGAN METODE SURFACE DISTRESS INDEX (SDI)
The service life of pavement diminishes as traffic volumes and vehicle loads increase. Significant visible damage has been observed along the Prancis Dadap Highway in Tangerang Regency, particularly due to the dominance of large trucks in this commercial and warehousing corridor, which also serves as a key access route to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. As a Class II road, the Prancis Dadap Highway is constructed with rigid pavement (2/2 UD design), yet damage along the roadway poses safety risks to users, damages vehicles, and disrupts the distribution of goods. This study specifically aims to assess the appropriate type of road improvement program for the Prancis Dadap Highway by evaluating the current condition of the pavement and identifying segments requiring urgent maintenance. Secondary data from Bessie (2022) is used to analyze the types and dimensions of pavement damage, including length, width, and depth, utilizing the Surface Distress Index (SDI) method. Findings reveal that the average SDI values in the airport and Dadap directions are 51.17 and 67.83, respectively, classifying the damage in both directions as moderate. In the airport direction, extensive but less severe damage requires routine maintenance across multiple segments. Conversely, the Dadap direction exhibits more severe forms of damage despite five segments showing no visible deterioration. This discrepancy, reflected in a higher average SDI, highlights the need for targeted repairs in specific areas to prevent further degradation and ensure the efficient movement of goods.
