Analysis of Public Building Project performance A Case Study in Oromia
The construction projects are disreputable for demonstrating poor performance and under achievement as usually indicated by project objectives. The present work attempts to evaluate a multidimensional performance evaluation framework of public sector construction projects by considering all relevant measures of performance and the factors that influence success of these kinds of projects. Project performance in the construction industry are faced with many research suggestions in literatures to improve performance but there is confusion in the implementation of these recommendations. The findings of the exploratory study reveal that the individual items constituting factors of performance measurement variables essentially represent key performance indicators namely time, cost, quality, and safety and health impact. The study determines the performance of cost, time, quality and safety which were used to evaluate the Public Building Project Performance analysis which gives feedback for improved decision making in the context of project performance in the Ethiopia construction industry. This thesis study tends not to discard the positivism or interpretivism philosophical stance by being practical. The research process involves different phases with analytical and applied research technique corresponding to the two respective ends of the positivist-constructivist model range. The analysis has been used to evaluate model simulation of interplay and effects of different components for aiding decision making of successful public project performance. The findings of this thesis study have significant bearing on other all kind of public sector construction projects undertaken in developing countries
