Attribute of Delay in Construction Projects in Bahrain
The Purpose of this research is to show that the top reasons due to delay in construction projects in Bahrain. This has been descriptive research design since it describes perceptions regarding reasons of delay in projects in Bahrain. It is done by examining perceptions and views through survey on selected construction projects. It gives the following results: it becomes clear that slow decision making had the biggest mean rating reason of delays which indicates "highest Probability". Quality assurance/control it had the highest mean rating reason of delays indicating "highest Probability ". Reworks due to errors during construction had the biggest mean rating reason of delays indicating "highest Probability ". Changes in material types and specifications during construction had the biggest mean rating reason of delays indicating "highest Probability". Shortage of labors was the biggest mean rating reason for delay showing "highest Probability ". Problem with neighbors was the biggest issue of problem. In conclusions, the most important reasons for delay in construction projects in Bahrain are as follows: Slow decision making; Rework due to errors during construction; Delays in performing final inspections and certifications by a third; Suspension of work; Quality assurance/control; Problems with neighbors. As recommended, to avoid delaying in construction projects in Bahrain that it must be either reduce or eliminate these reasons of delay.Key Words: Construction Projects, Project Delay, Projects, Decision Making, Bahrain, Delay, Projects
