ASSESSMENT ON CURRENT MANAGEMENT OF EXPLOITATION AND USE OF GROUNDWATER IN TRA VINH CITY
This study was conducted to evaluate current situation of ground water exploitation at the city and its management. The study result shown ground water is main water source supplying for domestic use purposes of the city. Currently, total of ground water pumping is about 20.000 m3 per day. It was exceeded 168% comparing the allowed exploitation volume of the province. Besides, the mornitoring of ground water quality at Long Duc, Tra Vinh City revealed the water parameters of hardness, alum, total Coliform and salinity is higher than the national regulation. The ground water level at upper-middle Pleistocen layer (qp2-3) is descending at average of 0,38 – 0,42m (at the national monitoring borehole Q217020 and Q40403T). The result of household survey shown the refilling of old ground water well has not been conducted adequately. Moreover, the regulation on ground water pumping was issued later than the reality situations and its implementation is limited by the annual delivery funds. It is true that the managing illegal wells are taking many issues.
