NILAI KEARIFAN LOKAL DAN MAKNA SIMBOLIK DALAM ARSITEKTUR ICONIC BERCIRIKAN ISLAM TUGU PERSATUAN DAN MASJID AL-ALAM DI KOTA KENDARI
Architecture is not neutral, it perceives and even to some extent is absorbed by the socio-cultural surrounding it. The purpose of this study is to uncover Islamic religious values and local wisdom contained in the iconic architecture of the Unity Monument and the Al-Alam Mosque of Kendari as well as the symbolic meaning of both architectures. The research is an interpretive qualitative with thick desription model. Data collected by interview, observation and study documents. The results of this study are (1) Islamic religious values contained in the iconic architecture of the Unity Monument are: (a) the divine value symbolized with a height of 99 M. which is a symbol of Asmaul Husna, (b) The value of the Shahada symbolized by two floors the basement on which the building is based, (c) the value of the five pillars of Islam symbolized by the five main pillars supporting the monument, (d) the value of unity symbolized by the five main pillars united, and the welfare value symbolized by the pool of water surrounding the monument. Whereas at Al-Alam Mosque Islamic values that are included are: (a) a picture of heaven beneath which rivers flow, (b) a great reward, (c) the value of future optimism, and (d) the value of well-being. (2) The values of local wisdom contained in the iconic architecture of the Unity Monument and Al-Alam Mosque in Kendari are (a) Haluoleo heroic values symbolized in number 8 in the architecture of the Unity Monument and Al-Alam Mosque, (b) a union symbolized by lingakar Kalosara, (c) welfare. (3) The symbolic meaning contained in the iconic architecture of the Unity Monument and the Al-Alam Mosque in Kendari are (a) power markers, (b) place markers, and (d) identity formers of the city of Kendari.
