The master's thesis \"Glass and Light Synthesis in Contemporary Art\" examines the possibilities of artistic expression of glass and light combined in glassworks. The work consists of two parts of research, findings and a lists of used literature and illustrations. The first part of the paper reviews the main theories of light propagation, wide selection of artificial light sources (lamps), their advantages and disadvantages. Considering the use of light in artwork, i discuss the type and characteristics used in glass object. The evolution and changes in the glass luminaire, its relation to light, as well as the attention paid to works that are incorporated into the architecture aesthetize the premises are considered too. The second part consist of studying the possibilities of artistic expression, the use of glass and light synthesis, the analysis of Lithuanian and foreign artists works, in which purpose the light is used purposefully. I analyzed the specific artistic expressions of authors, which visualize expressive works with glass and light. And finally, there goes my description of the process of my creative work, my experiences and the results of creative experiments in my study year.
