Nong Nooch (Tailando Karalystė) botanikos sodo cikinių (Cycadaceae Person.) ir arekinių (Arecaceae Bercht. and J. Presl.) šeimų kolekcijos ; Cycad (Cycadaceae Persoon.) and palm (Arecaceae Bercht. & J. Presl.) families collections of the Nong Nooch (Kingdom of Thailand) Botanical Garden
Nong Nooch is a tropical garden with its typical plant collections. Despite cultural and religious differences as well as differences between plant species, this garden could be an example for us. It proves that scientific research can be compatible with public’s needs for recreation and education. The garden is financially self-supporting, it operates without financial aid. Moreover, it supports some science research and social projects. Collections of Arecaceae and Cycadaceae families are extraordinary, not only for their abundance and precise systematic arrangement, but also for their aesthetic layout according to the principles of landscape architecture. Nong Nooch Botanical Garden represents all known 95 Cycas L. species and approximately 800 species of Arecaceae family. The assemblage of different Cycads at the garden is one of the largest and diverse documented collections in the world. It should be noted that gene bank of Cycads is established in Nong Nooch Botanical Garden, as well.
