Static and Dynamic Load Testing of the New Svinesund Arch Bridge
The New Svinesund Bridge at the border between Sweden and Norway has recently been opened to traffic. Due to the uniqueness of design and the importance of the bridge, an extensive long-term monitoring program was inititated. This paper briefly describes the instrumentation of the bridge and focuses on the comprehensive static and dynamic load tests that were performed just before bridge opening. Some interesting results are presented and compared with those predicted by theory. ; QC 20111116
