Increasing the attractiveness of VILNIUS TECH PARK for Belarusian startups ; Vilnius Tech Park patrauklumo didinimas baltarusų startuoliams
Vilnius Tech Park is the biggest startup hub in the Baltics and Nordics. The main aim of the hub is to unite all startup ecosystem players under one roof. One of the objectives of the company is to have 20% of the premises used by the startups, which have no previous presence in Vilnius. For that reason, the startup hub aims to attract talents from strategically important neighboring countries such as Belarus. To accomplish this task, it is important to increase the attractiveness of Vilnius Tech Park for Belarusian startups. This paper provides solutions for increasing the attractiveness by implementing a communication plan. The first part of the thesis provides the description of the internal situation as well as the external factors, influencing the attractiveness of the entity. The second part, empirical research, which is done using the semi-structured interviews with representatives of Belarusian startups, is used to distinguish the main characteristics of Belarusian startups, their main concerns about relocation, rental prices, benefits they sought, as well as the communication channels to reach them. Based on the academic literature, research results and current trends, the communication plan is provided in the last part of the thesis. The findings disclose that Belarusians indeed consider the relocation option to Lithuania and they rely on the opinion leaders and their own acquaintances. Moreover, the main benefits they seek are like-minded people, sharing experiences, additional legal and accounting help. This is therefore suggested to be communicated through digital channels and events in order to increase attractiveness of Vilnius Tech Park.
