Lakiųjų pelenų panaudojimo moliniams gruntams stiprinti tyrimas ; Investigation of fly-ash use for clayely soil stabilization
The master’s thesis represents an investigation of fly-ash (FA), which is collected during the production of mineral wool for strengthening clay soil. According to thesis theme it is provided main parts, namely: literature overview, experimental set up, results analysis. The strengthening of clay (cohesive) soil is more complicated when comparing to cohesionless soils. Thus, the thesis focus on suggestions on how to strengthen clay soil and what technologies to use as well. FA which was obtained during the mineral wool production is presented in the literature overview section. It is a new FA type therefore it properties are compared with other types of FA and their applications possibilities. Mainly analyzed the compressive strength of FA. In the experimental section, it is presented strengthened clay with FA compressive strength after 7 days, 28 days and 6 months. The result analysis demonstrate the relationship between FA–Portland cement, clay powder–sand ratio, as well as significant impact on compressive strength. The results are taken into consideration and according to them the conclusion and suggestions are prepared. The master’s thesis includes 7 sections, namely: introduction, literature review, testing methodology, results analysis, conclusion and suggestions, bibliography. It contains 49 pages (not including appendixes), 34 images, 6 tables, 51 references. Appendixes included.
