Powers fireproof commercial building
An advertising card for Scrantom, Wetmore & Co., dealers in books, stationary and athletic supplies, located in the Powers Building. Exterior view of the Powers Building at the corner of Main and State Streets in the Four Corners, facing northwest, and also show the Powers Hotel to the left of the Powers Building. Designed by local architect Andrew J. Warner, construction began in 1865 and various additions were made until it reached its present form in 1890. It was one of the first commercial fireproof buildings in the U.S.
