Eigentlich herrscht in dem Vorort nördlich des Stadtzentrums von Osaka kein Mangel an Grün. Doch der Bauherr des Earth House von Tomohiro Hata wünschte sich mehr Kontakt zur Natur und ein Gebäude, das langlebig sein sollte, statt – wie so oft in Japan – deutlich vor Ende seiner technischen Lebensdauer abgerissen und durch einen Neubau ersetzt zu werden.
There is, in fact, no shortage of greenery here, but the client of Tomohiro Hata’s Earth House wanted more con- tact with nature and a building that would have a long life instead of – as is so often the case in Japan – being demol- ished long before the end of its technical life and replaced by a new building.
