Hotel Icaro in the Dolomites
The meadows of the Seiser Alm belong to Europe’s greatest high altitude plateau. It is situated in the UNESCO World Heritage natural site of the Dolomites, encircled by majestic mountains. Hikers, mountain bikers, skiers and snowboarders alike enjoy the landscape throughout the year. The hotel owned by the Sattler family is surrounded by mountain trails and ski slopes at an elevation of 1900 m. Angelika Sattler became the third-generation manager of the hotel in 2020. She commissioned the Brixen-based office of Modus Architects with its expansion and contemporary redesign based on a privately advertised competition.
Die Seiser Alm ist Europas größtes Hochplateau. Sie liegt im Unesco-Weltnaturerbe der Dolomiten und erstreckt sich über 57 km2 zwischen 1680 und 2350 m Meereshöhe. Um sie herum erheben sich majestätisch Sellastock, Langkofelgruppe, Rosszähne und Schlernmassiv. Wanderer, Mountainbiker, Skiund Snowboardfahrer genießen das ganze Jahr hindurch die artenreiche Landschaft. Das Hotel der Familie Sattler liegt umgeben von Bergpfaden und Skipisten auf 1900 m Höhe. Als Angelika Sattler 2020 in dritter Generation die Leitung übernahm, beauftragte sie das Brixener Büro Modus Architects mit der Erweiterung und zeitgemäßen Umgestaltung über einen privat ausgelobten Wettbewerb.
