Mit dem neuen Munch-Museum hat Estudio Herreros ein Ausrufezeichen mit Fernwirkung am Ufer des Oslofjords gesetzt. Gemeinsam mit dem Opernhaus von Snøhetta und der unlängst eingeweihten Deichman- Bibliothek von Lund Hagem und Atelier Oslo bildet es eine Trias prominenter Kulturbauten im Stadtteil Bjørvika, der sich in den letzten 15 Jahren vom Hafenareal zum Wohn-, Büro- und Kulturstandort gewandelt hat.
With the new Munch Museum on the shores of the Oslofjord, Estudio Herreros has made a grand statement with international reach. Together with the Opera House by Snøhetta and the recently horizontally extending structure of the Opera House. This also gives the new building an additional presence in the cityscape by the fjord and, on the west side of the museum, frees up public space in the otherwise densely populated district of Bjørvika.
