The historic warehouse of the Philips corporation built in the 1940s is an icon of modern architecture. Caruso St John Architects mastered the challenge of renovating the industrial heritage building without impairing its character. On the roof, a new three storey residential structure was created, in addition to a market hall on the ground floor, a parking garage above it and spaces for experimentation for young firms where products were stored in the past.
Das historische Lagergebäude von Philips aus den 1940er-Jahren ist eine Ikone der modernen Architektur. Caruso St John Architects gelang das Kunststück, das Industriedenkmal umzubauen, ohne dessen Charakter zu schwächen. Auf dem Dach entstand ein neuer dreigeschossiger Wohnbau, im Erdgeschoss eine Markthalle, darüber parken nun Autos und experimentieren junge Firmen, wo früher Produkte lagerten.
