Haus S im bayerischen Voralpenland
Das Einfamilienhaus der Schwabs in Kottgeisering im bayrischen Voralpenland ist ein monolithischer Ziegelbau. Der hoch aufragende Neubau erhebt sich auf einem langen, schmalen Hanggrundstück zwischen zwei denkmalgeschützten Villen. Sie stammen aus der vorletzten Jahrhundertwende, der Zeit, in der viele Münchner in der Gemeinde nördlich des Ammersees ihre Sommerfrische verbrachten. Aus Rücksicht auf den alten Baumbestand und um den Nachbarn den Blick nicht zu verbauen, hat der Architekt Felix Huber die Gebäudekubatur des Einfamilienhauses mit einer sechseckigen Grundfläche von 91 m² über 10 m in die Höhe entwickelt.
The single family house owned by the Schwab family is a monolithic brick building located in the village of Kottgeisering in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps. The towering new construction rises above a long and narrow sloping property between two historically listed villas. They were built in the late 19th century at a time when many people from Munich spent their summertime vacation in the community north of the Ammersee lake. To protect the old tree population and in order to not obstruct the neighbour's views, the architect Felix Huber designed a vertical building volume for the single family home with a height of more than 10 m on a hexagonal footprint covering 91 m2.
