MODELING OF THE RECTANGULAR COLUMNS BY THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL SOLID ELEMENTS WITH THE USING OF THE SUPERELEMENT TECHNIQUE
The new approach to rectangular column modeling in finite element analysis of building structures is suggested. Each column is presented by the set of the volume 8-node elements with arbitrary discretization on the cross section and on the height of the column. The inner nodes of the finite element mesh are excluded sequentially layer by layer, thus reducing the stiffness matrix and other characteristics of the column to its top and bottom cross sections
