Methods for determining ecologically acceptable flow the River Pliva case study
Ecologically acceptable flow (EPP) is a value of river flow that is necessary for survival of flora and fauna within a water body. The EPP is determined in order to protect water and water related ecosystems, regardless of whether they are watercourses of a permanent or temporary character. In addition, EPP is defined in legislation and is interpreted in a similar way in different countries. The paper presents application of various methods for determining the EPP, on an example of the Pliva River in the Republic of Srpska.
