SWAMPS, LANES, STAIRCASES: A GARDEN NEIGHBORHOOD AND ITS WATERS
This paper discusses landscape features associated with water in Jardim Felicidade, a garden neighborhood designed by Jorge de Macedo Vieira in the early 1960s, located on the right bank of the Pirituba Stream in São Paulo. Open spaces related to the water, devices designed for draining it away, the later elimination of water courses and the drainage of swamps are the focuses of this study.
