Appropriation des ressources naturelles dans une forêt andine équatorienne : vers la gestion patrimoniale des ressources
The Andean ecosystem, characterized by one of the highest biodiversity in the world, has maintained several civilizations through history. The development of those civilizations produced diverse impacts in their scope and in the evolution of their biodiversity. Presently, the management of those forests does not take into account the cultural inheritance or the socioeconomic reality of their human users. This study describes appropriation strategies and natural resource representations from users of an Ecuadorian Andean community. Transformation of forests is the base for the subsistence “economy” of these people. The understanding of this dynamic will allow us to propose guidelines for the implementation of heritage management of the Andean forests, following theoretical principles of Ecological Economics and Institutionalism.
