International aid to Haiti is a double-edged sword: it saves lives, but certainly, insidiously, it contributes to deforestation of the country by its contents (rice and beans) and its collateral damage (evangelist and exclusive use of wood as a material for reconstruction). What we are submitting it to analyzing the future of the forest capital of Haiti in the great dynamics of post-disaster reconstruction of the country is being done with support from abroad. This humanitarian assistance must balance the urgency and the future interests of the recipient country to be truly useful and effective. We must feed the affected population must be guaranteed a home for displaced but this must be done in protecting the natural capital of the country not to mortgage their future by setting up the execution conditions of another disaster, ecocide . Humanitarian aid post earthquake, under present conditions, is therefore dangerous to save the forests in Haiti.
