Generation of ideas in architectural design using design thinking tools
Ideation is the most creative stage in the process of architectural design, where the author’s personality and professionalism become manifest. Examination of this stage helped identify tools that enable the architect generate new ideas. The aim of the study was to reveal and adapt the design thinking tools used at the ideation stage to those already existing in architectural design. Brainstorming, trend canvas and Playing The Future were found to expand the architect's capabilities in generating new ideas.
