The objective of this paper is to evaluate the drainage system in the central and periphery areas. From there, a number of proposed solutions are proposed to repair the drainage infrastructure and urgently deal with flooding in the Ho Chi Minh City area. As a result, in the City Center area, the drainage infrastructure built during the French colonial period has been degraded. The city government has used the technology of lining plastic pipes, reinforcing local slump positions (without digging) for the case of arch culverts still ensuring the drainage basin; in case the culverts have deteriorated, there is a risk of subsidence, large will conduct open excavation and install new drainage; For coastal areas where drainage infrastructure has not been fully built or has no drainage system, research and investment will be made in building new (excavated) sewers to ensure synchronous connection and drainage efficient water.
