URBAN PLANNING RESEARCH INTO MASS RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE CITIES OF WESTERN SIBERIA
The article examines mass residential developments in the fabric of historically established cities of Western Siberia. Urban planning analysis involved identification of the main areas with mass residential development in the structure of the cities, estimation (for the first time) of their share in total housing stock and architectural and planning organization, and characterization of microclimatic features. The study is based on a comprehensive approach that allows assessing the potential of territories for further urban renovation towards creating a comfortable urban environment.
