Bernard Jouve lived a rich experience between two different academic worlds. That is the principle reason why he aimed to develop a critical thought on urban changes and cities in the midst of French academic world. Further, he wanted to spread these analysis inspired by North-American urban research among actors playing a role in urban policies. For the research team that he managed in Lyon for these last years, this interest became, and remains, a unifier element.
