Construction gothique et transmission des savoirs. Le cas de la cathédrale de Lyon
The transmission of the knowledges in architecture in the Middle Ages concerns intellectual knowledge (geometry, mathematics) and technical know-how. In the past this was acquired through learning by the accumulation of experience over time. The medieval monuments registered(recorded) in their masonries the success and the errors of those who learnt the art to build. Trough the archaeology of building can we find, identify and interpret these tracks of the construction, in particular the kind of transmission of the knowledges. The cathedral of Lyon is a good example of this search.
