The Santa Maria dos Anjos Chapel (1978) is a humble and unique work. The project was designed by the architects Lina Bo, Marcelo Ferraz and André Vainer is located in the city of Vargem Grande Paulista and represents the alternative architecture to the São Paulo status quo. This article aims to analyze the project and its relation to the concept of national-popular, concept of Te-Ato (like American Living Theatre), Franciscan faith and culture high culture and popular culture to understand its direct communication directly with the extensive cultural and political scenario.
