The role of brown coal in the energetic balance in the Slovak Republic
The demand for electricity is one of the global issues of mankind. Therefore, governments devote a great attention to this sphere. The more dependent is a country of foreign power resources, the greater attention it has to devote to this problem. This is also the problem of Slovakia that has poor domestic power resources. Slovakia imports 88 per cent of primary power resources. The paper deals with basic principles of coal mining in Slovakia considering the Energy Conception actualized in 1998.
