The algorithm for the detection of loss of excitation of synchronous generator with an admittance characteristic in a time domain
Protection of the loss of excitation has a task to detect the loss of excitation of the synchronous generator and disconnect the generator from the network before it loses stability and out of synchronism. The paper presents a new algorithm for detecting the loss of excitation of the synchronous generator with the admittance response characteristic realized in the time domain. The algorithm uses input signals that are formed so that the response characteristic is aligned with the synchronous generator capability diagram. The algorithm testing was performed on the network model formed in MATLAB / Simulink package. The obtained results showed the good properties of the proposed algorithm.
