Werkbund exhibitions: Reading modernism today
In this paper, through analyses of examples of Werkbundsiedlungs, great endeavours from the aspects of both architecture and urban planning, undertaken in the late 1920s i.e. at the peak of Modernism, critical valorization of the period through today's perspective is presented. Werkbundsiedlung Exhibitions have been chosen for thorough analyses due to the prevalence of Modern ideas expressed in them. Two entirely different examples: Werkbundsiedlung in Vienna and settlement 'Baba' in Prague were particularly revalorized.
