Stability of aluminium in contact with alkaline building materials
Aluminum with amphoteric character belongs among metals susceptible to alkalis; building materials which show alkaline reaction, until completion of setting, will attack aluminum in presence of moisture; experimental results are tabulated; when aluminum is assembled with more noble metal, it forms anode and will be increasingly attacked; general guidelines for use of aluminum materials in building construction are given.
