Experiences with transportable 18 MeV betatron for nondestructive testing
Efficiency of Siemens 18 Mev betatron in its application to metal radiography is discussed and some technical details are given; apparatus allows X-raying of steel up to 10 in. thick in exposure time under 20 min; maximum steel thickness that can be handled is 16 to 20 in.; because of its low weight, equipment is suitable as transportable unit in steel mills and construction sites.
