Thermal conductivity of expanded perlite cryogenic fill insulation
Investigation of properties of expanded perlite for use as cryogenic insulation was conducted at Johns-Manville Research and Engineering Center; effect of several production variables on thermal conductivity of perlite is discussed and data interpreted by statistical methods of analysis; heat-flow meters, calibrated between 50 and 200 F, were used in tests without need for low temperature calibration by placing them against hot surface of sample.
