Dispersion and adsorption in porous media flow
Mathematical analysis is presented of phenomenon of simultaneous dispersion and adsorption of solute in porous media flow; experiments were conducted in lucite column containing 3 mm or 5 mm diam glass beads; water was fluid and methylene blue die was solute in all experiments; Reynolds number range extended from 6.6 to 280; it was found that rate constants, introduced in expression for solute transfer from fluid phase to solid phase, correlated fairly well with Reynolds number.
