Numerical solution to dispersion equation
Semi-implicit numerical solution to differential equation of dispersion in 2-dimensional open channel is developed; details of iterative technique and computer solution are shown; results for turbulent flows show that longitudinal distribution of solute concentration approaches Gaussian pattern as dispersion time progresses, and dispersion coefficient depends jointly on convective transport and on turbulent diffusivity.
