Dynamic similitude of underground structures
Similitude requirements for predicting dynamic response of underground structures are investigated and validity of proposed model design conditions is checked experimentally; structures used in tests were hollow aluminum cylinders having diam of 4 in., 2 in., and 1 in., but data are also presented for structures having square cross sections; all structures tested were buried in dry Ottawa sand and loaded by dropping weight on surface of sand.
