Beam column experiments
Tests on 37 full-scale wide flange beam columns are described, and results evaluated; bending was about strong axis for all but one of tests, with slenderness ratio varying from 20 to 112; axial load and end moment were applied independently of each other, and moments were applied to produce 4 types of loading; 27 of tests were laterally unbraced, and 10 had lateral bracing; failure of members resulted from yielding, lateral-buckling, or local buckling; comparison of ultimate test loads with theoretical values obtained from numerical integration and with values obtained from empirical interaction equation showed good correlation.
