Model duct for mine fire research
Paper gives general description of fire propagating in timber lining of mine roadway; characteristics of such fires are studied by means of model experiments; instrumentation of duct is designed to give information on rate of spread of fire along timber lining, composition of products of combustion, rate of cooling of these products, rate of fuel emission from lining, heat transfer rates at different stages of fire, and reaction rate profiles along fire.
