Production rates of neutrons in soils due to natural radioactivity
Paper provides quantitative experimental data from experiments in which several compounds and elements were exposed to monoenergetic helium ions with energies ranging from 4.8 to 8.8 Mev; these experiments were conducted to estimate neutron production rates from natural α emitters in typical sand, granites, and limestone.
