Shear strength of rocks in-situ along weak planes -- Case of schist, mudstone and granite
Experiments were undertaken to show difference between strength of rock in-situ and that of rock specimens of laboratory size, since former contains many weak planes; experiments were prepared mainly to obtain shear strength of rock in-situ along weak plane; crystalline sandstone-schist of Shikoku, alternation of mudstone and sandy tuff or tufaceous sandstone of Miocene in Yamagata and granite along Tenryu River were used in study.
