Deformability characteristics of rock foundations before and after grouting
Deformation tests were carried out in galleries by applying uniform load over circular area of 80 cm diam; measured settlements of surface of experimental areas under load agree favorably with theoretical calculations (Boussinesq solution) to within 1.5 radii from axis of loaded area; grouting of massive slightly fissured rock is not followed by marked increase in deformation moduli.
