Shear strength and elastic properties of lime-soil mixtures
Study to investigate properties of lime-soil mixtures, to evaluate influence of soil type and curing time on these properties, and to determine relationships between shear strength properties and unconfined compression test results; four Illinois soils were used in testing program; commercially produced, high-calcium hydrated lime was used throughout study; lime contained 96% Ca(OH)2, and 95% passed No. 325 sieve; curing periods for lime-soil mixtures varied from 1 to 6 days at 120 F; unconsolidated-undrained type triaxial tests with total deformation measurements were conducted on cured samples.
