Plastic domes are not suitable for fire ventilation purposes
Domes made of acrylics, rigid PVC and GFRP are discussed in connection with use for fire ventilation; acrylics were judged to be plastic material best suited for this purpose; fire tests with domes made of acrylics revealed that even such domes were not destroyed quickly enough, particularly not in presence of snow or ice; reason for this is that flame resistance of plastic materials used are too good.
