Insulation of buried pipelines with light asphalt
Method of insulating heat carrying pipe lines with light asphalt consisting of graded cork particles and blown bitumen is efficient; material is either cast round pipe lines without preinsulation, directly in field, or pipes are factory insulated; method offers following advantages -- absolute tightness with permanent corrosion protection, good heat insulation and flexibility in case of ground sagging; examination of insulation at high medium temperatures showed that with observance of minimum covers and sufficient compression, only very insignificant deformations occur even under extreme conditions.
